Alcopa acquires Buffet Crampon, a worldwide leading manufacturer of musical instruments

Alcopa is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of Buffet Crampon, a world-leading manufacturer of wind instruments, from Trail and its other shareholders. The company’s management, including current shareholder-managers and a broader group of first-time investing managers, will also participate in this investment. Buffet Crampon is headquartered in Mantes-la-Ville (France) and generates annual revenues of € 110M while employing approximately 1,000 people across Europe, North America and Asia.
Founded in 1825, Buffet Crampon has evolved from a French clarinet specialist into a global leader with a comprehensive portfolio of wind instruments (wood and brass) and a developing presence in percussion instruments. The portfolio comprises 12 iconic brands that are recognized by soloists, orchestras and music schools worldwide for their excellence.
The group has developed its own distribution network across all major geographies as well as showrooms where clients can test, service, and purchase their instruments directly. It designs and manufactures its instruments at six production sites in France, Germany, the USA and China. Through its fully integrated value chain, Buffet Crampon has invested in and developed industry-leading manufacturing capabilities resulting in renowned sound and mechanical quality.
